A Comprehensive Guide to Our Platform’s Data Security Measures

A Comprehensive Guide to Our Platforms Data Security Measures

Your Safety is Our Priority

As the world becomes increasingly digital, the importance of protecting personal information cannot be overstated. This is particularly true in the world of influencer marketing, where creators are often required to provide sensitive information such as names, emails, account details, and payment information when registering with a platform. As such, it’s essential that influencer marketing platforms take the necessary steps to ensure the security of their users’ information.

One of the questions we’re often asked is “How can I be sure my account is secure if it’s registered on Kofluence”. In this blog, we will take these weighing concerns off your minds and address this with the compliance measures we have in place. At Kofluence, we take this security highly crucial and have implemented robust data protection measures to ensure that your personal information is secure.

On registering with Kofluence, your account credentials are protected by the following security standards we have in place:

Tech provider certificate from Google and Facebook

Kofluence is a top-notch technology provider that has earned the distinction of being certified by both Facebook and Google. This certification is a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that meet the highest standards of security and data usage.

This exclusive recognition sets us apart in the industry and validates the high-quality nature of our work.

To achieve this recognition, Kofluence underwent a series of rigorous audits from both social media platforms, during which our processes and practices were thoroughly examined to ensure that we were following all the best practices and guidelines for security and data usage. These audits were no small feat and required extensive preparation and collaboration between our teams and the auditors.

We intermittently conduct these audits every quarter to ensure that our standards remain consistently high and that we continue to adhere to the strict guidelines set by these social media giants. This ongoing scrutiny ensures that our creators can always have confidence in the security and privacy of their data when working with Kofluence.

Creators are the owner of their data

Nobody other than creators has access to their social media platforms. When a client authenticates their Facebook or YouTube account with Kofluence, they are only sharing programmatic access to APIs to get the status of Kofluence-led campaigns. This authentication cannot be used to access their profiles or sensitive information.

At any time, clients can request that their campaign information be deleted from Kofluence’s data stores. We have a 90-day buffer period in place during which we remove all information from our data stores. During this time, clients can choose to reactivate their accounts if they wish. This level of control gives our clients peace of mind knowing that their data is being handled with the utmost care and respect.

Denied access to Unauthorised personnel

Only authorized personnel have access to our creators’ data. This applies to Kofluence employees, who only have access to the data they need to perform their campaign functions. This ensures that confidential information remains confidential and protected at all times. To further safeguard our clients’ data, even high-level executives, such as CXOs, do not have access to sensitive information, including database or performance records.

Latest SSL and TLS protocol

Nobody would trust a platform that is flagged ‘not secure’ by Google. An SSL certificate is what ensures this security by Google. Kofluence has implemented SSL encryption for all its web and mobile applications to ensure secure data transmission. It’s a standard technology for establishing an encrypted connection between our platform and the creator. Kofluence uses an advance and more secure version of SSL known as TLS 1.2 Encryption which reinforces:

  • Encryption in transit is enforced.
  • Software applications and infrastructure require encrypted network connections and prohibit any unencrypted connections.

VPC-secured Cloud Infrastructure

With the highest standards of security in place for our cloud infrastructure, our platform is secured under a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and can only be accessed through an Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) based VPN.

The use of a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) provides an extra layer of security to our client’s data by ensuring that it is isolated from the public internet and only accessible by authorized individuals through a secure connection. This helps to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information and protects against potential security threats.

In addition to the VPC, we also use an IPsec-based VPN for secure remote access to our cloud infrastructure. IPsec is a widely used security protocol that provides encryption, authentication, and integrity protection for data transmitted over a network. This ensures that all data transmitted between the VPN client and the cloud infrastructure is secure and protected from potential security breaches.

Multi-Factor Authentication and Enforcement:

For Kofluence employees, access to all Kofluence infrastructure requires not only a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection but also MFA. This provides an additional layer of security, making it much harder for unauthorized individuals to access sensitive information. The use of MFA ensures that even if an attacker gains access to an employee’s login credentials, they will still be unable to access the Kofluence infrastructure without access to the second factor of authentication.

In addition to MFA for employees, we have also enabled mobile OTP-based authentication for all of our customers. This provides an additional layer of security for customer accounts and ensures that only authorized individuals have access to sensitive information.

Vulnerability & Threat Analysis (Security Testing)

We prioritize the protection of all cloud and data assets through the implementation of comprehensive platform security measures. Regular scans are conducted on our infrastructure, libraries, code, and software components as well as the cloud infrastructure to detect and remediate any potential vulnerabilities and threats. These audits help us stay on top of any incoming cybersecurity threats and ensure that your data is protected.
